Description
Because each bag is unique, the one you receive will differ
from the one in the picture depending on what sails we have in stock, but if
you would like something specific then please give us a call.
All our
recycled sailcloth products have been lovingly made by hand in our working sail loft in Topsham, Devon,
by our experienced team of over 100 years in the sail making industry. Knowing
how much work goes into each sail, we try to use as much of each sail as
possible, making each product unique.
Sailcloth comes in many shapes
and forms from woven Polyester and traditional Canvas to Carbon Fibre, Kevlar
and Technora Laminates. we try to incorporate
recycled fittings such as Original Sail Numbers and Class Insignias (class logo’s), Eyelets,
rings and even Brass Piston Hanks originally used to
attach the sail to the rig.
Each of our recycled sailcloth products is
totally unique, being manufactured from a sail that has perhaps gone past its
usable life on the boat and tells the story of its life on the sea.
Because no 2 parts of a sail will have weathered and worn in the same way as any other, each bag
will have its own story to tell, even with patches and repairs. We clean the recycled sails to
remove the sail and dirt, but the marks and scuffs throughout the sails life are what
gives each product its individuality and makes them truly original.
All our
bags are manufactured using high-quality products such as polyester webbing,
stainless steel rings and nickel plated eyelets. We use the same
techniques and materials we use in our sail and canvas manufacture.
